Western Career Training’s Caregiver program includes over 100 active learning hours in subjects like food preparation, infection control, legal & ethical rights of the patient, and environment management. Like all of WCT’s healthcare training programs, the Caregiver program is designed to make the transition from school to the working field as easy as possible. With an emphasis on Assisted Living Facility Caregiver jobs, WCT centers its program on the Arizona Board of Examiners of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers – an accredited state certification program.
Western Career Training’s Nursing Assistant program emphasizes student preparation in knowledge and skills. What knowledge and skills? The kind that employers and patients are looking for. Knowledge and skills necessary to meet long-term care facility demands. WCT hopes to improve industry standards with its healthcare training programs. The Nursing Assistant program is at the forefront of that goal. WCT aims to achieve this by increasing and expanding patient care and worker satisfaction by continuing to pursue clinical training at accredited and licensed healthcare facilities.
The Certified Nursing Assistant program at WCT includes 120 hours of study in subjects such as infection control, disease processes, data collection, older adult growth & development, mental health, and more. At Western Career Training, students are prepared for the Arizona State Board of Nursing exam to receive a Certified Nurse Assistant license in the State of Arizona.
The Pharmacy Technician program at Western Career Training prepares students for employment as qualified Pharmacy Technicians through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, provided by the NCAA accredited national certification program. With 120 classroom hours and 120 clinical hours – including orientation with a licensed pharmacy – WCT readies students to take the PTCB exam and receive Pharmacy Tech Licensure in the State of Arizona.
The Pharmacy Tech program at WCT emphasizes pharmacy calculations & abbreviations, inventory management, theft recovery, drug classification & formulations, etc. This series of topics ensures mastery of knowledge and skills necessary to successfully complete the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board National Exam.
How does WCT’s Pharmacy Tech program, and other healthcare training programs, stay relevant? By maintaining the strictest standards, with no exceptions for Pharmacy Technician students. WCT requires all candidates to maintain zero denials, suspensions, revocations or restriction of registration or license by any State Board or Pharmacy.
Phlebotomy Technicians is one of many rapidly growing healthcare certification programs. Western Career Training offers a Phlebotomy Technician program that readies students not only for state standards, but national standards as well. Upon completion of the Phlebotomy Technician program at WCT, students are required to sit for the NCAA-accredited competency exam for national certification.
Western Career Training prepares its Phlebotomy Technician students for the NCAA exam with 70 classroom hours and 120 clinical hours. All clinical or lab participation is conducted in a licensed healthcare facility.
